Position Overview

As a Senior PHP Developer, you’ll be responsible for leading development projects, designing efficient architectures, optimizing database queries, and maintaining secure and scalable PHP applications. You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality digital solutions — including e-commerce platforms, product management systems, and admin dashboards used across Barcode Vault’s network.

You will also play a key role in guiding junior developers, reviewing code, and implementing best practices for clean, maintainable, and high-performance PHP code.

Key Responsibilities

Core Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality PHP applications, websites, and backend APIs.

  • Develop and manage admin panels, CMS systems, and product galleries for Barcode Vault’s digital platforms.

  • Write clean, optimized, reusable, and testable PHP code following modern development standards (PSR, MVC, and SOLID principles).

  • Build and integrate RESTful APIs for internal and third-party services (e.g., payment gateways, inventory management tools).

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.

Database Management

  • Design and optimize MySQL databases for scalability and speed.

  • Create and manage relational database structures for product data, inventory, and customer interactions.

  • Ensure data integrity, backup, and recovery procedures are implemented correctly.

  • Handle database migration and optimization for performance.

Frontend Integration

  • Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate dynamic UI with PHP backend.

  • Work on AJAX-based form submissions, modals, and data validation.

  • Maintain responsive, secure, and cross-browser-compatible interfaces.

  • Implement modern UX practices for admin and user portals.

System Architecture & Leadership

  • Design and manage scalable backend architectures for multi-user applications.

  • Take ownership of project timelines, deliverables, and code quality.

  • Mentor junior developers and review code for consistency and best practices.

  • Suggest improvements to architecture, workflow, and technology adoption.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with PHP 7.x / 8.x and frameworks such as Laravel or CodeIgniter.

  • Proficiency in MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX.

  • Strong understanding of MVC frameworks, REST APIs, and OOP principles.

  • Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket).

  • Familiarity with cPanel, WHM, and Apache configurations.

  • Experience in building and managing secure file upload systems (PDF, image uploads).

  • Knowledge of cron jobs, session management, and error handling in production environments.

  • Experience with email sending systems (PHPMailer) and database-driven web forms.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience in React.js or Vue.js for frontend interaction.

  • Knowledge of API integration for payment gateways or shipping APIs.

  • Understanding of SEO principles for web applications.

  • Familiarity with Linux server environments and command-line tools.

  • Experience in e-commerce or inventory management system development.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

  • Location: Barcode Vault, New Delhi, India

  • Work Type: Full-time, On-site (Remote option for exceptional candidates)

  • Working Days: Monday to Saturday 

    Work Hours:     10:00 AM – 07:00 PM
